Lorraine Dauw was born in Grass Valley, CA and spent her youth in the Pacific North West. After receiving her BFA from Oregon State University she moved east to earn her MFA from Yale University in sculpture (2011). Dauw has traveled and exhibited extensively in the US but considers Asheville a perfect oasis to build a decisive body a work.
On view you will find "Current," Dauw's on going series, which is informed by two definitions of the word molded into playful form and color. The work is about bringing attention to the weight we give our past experience and how that influences the way we navigate the current moment.
